Learn how to use humor in your poetry, facilitated by nationally touring poet Devin Devine. Bring something to write on or with. Poets of all experience levels welcome. A donation of $3-5 is appreciated. Walk-ins OK but there’s only space for up to 15 participants so reserve your spot in advance if you can by emailing catherine.weiss@gmail.com.

Saturday, Sept. 8 at The Coffee Mill in Eastworks, 116 Pleasant St, Easthampton, open mic 6 PM, feature 7 PM
Join us and bring your poems for this open mic and feature! 3-minute open mic spots followed by a 30 minute featured set from nationally touring poet, Devin Devine. Come a bit early to sign up. No cover, but we’ll be passing a hat to pay our feature. Wheelchair accessible. All ages welcome but poetry may address adult topics.
Devin Devine is a writer, comedian, and performer from Spokane, Washington. One of the organizers for Spokane Poetry Slam and a member of Spokane’s 2015, 2017, and 2018 National Poetry Slam teams. She laughs and writes her way through issues of mental health, sexuality, sex positivity, recovery, and love. She is the author of three self-published chapbooks Feral Empathy, Crying on the Toilet, and her most recent Domestic & Fowl.

Open Mic Night for Youth

Every last Wednesday of the month from 7-9 p.m. from September through April, youth ages 12-25 are invited to Ign!te the Mic, The Valley’s only open mic for youth by youth.

A safe and non-competitive space for youth to share poetry, spoken word, music, monologues, theatrical scenes, dance, visual art, puppertry, or whatever your imagination can conceive!

All languages welcome. Admission $5 (no one turned away for lack of funds) Come and experience the healing power of the arts!

The Hangover Hour Poetry Salon
is every other Sunday afternoon, with a poet from the community reading the works of a poet from history. The open mic before the feature is a tight 5 minutes, for poems, stories or other spoken word propaganda. Spread the word nerd! The future is a drag, man!!! The Little “a” Poetry Series
